Introducing the Olivine Design Directory

ARTWORK BY Character Perez

Brand strategy and design have become a core part of what we do at Olivine. We support our clients with design for branding, websites, and countless marketing and sales assets, but we are also building our own brands. Our in-house brand studio is mighty, but small, so we started working with a roster of artists to help us execute more. Working with diverse designers has created a playground for experimentation and opportunity—and we’re just getting started.

Introducing the Olivine Design Directory

The Olivine Design Directory is a carefully curated list of stand-out artists and designers from all over the world. It allows designers to showcase their work and brands to find fresh creatives to hire. The directory features artists from Armenia, the UK, Italy, Portugal, Serbia, and Brazil. The directory includes creatives specializing in branding, illustration, motion, UX/IU, packaging, and typography.

Why we created the design directory

An internal resource to complement our in-house brand studio

Our in-house design team works on client projects but there is a lot to do when it comes to building our brands — Olivine and FMP. We outsource design work on blog assets and special internal projects so that we can maintain a strong cadence of delivery.

A playground for experimentation and opportunity

Not only are we able to produce more work by partnering with freelancers, but these partnerships are also an incredible playground for creativity, experimentation, and opportunity. Previously, we had a narrow brand style on our blogs and internal projects. Today, we use the artwork for our blogs to give a platform for artists to create freely. There are no rules or limitations, as long as concepts are clear and well communicated.

Seeing the unique ways creatives have applied our brand has inspired our in-house design team to stretch in ways we never considered. It’s a constant source of inspiration and motivation that makes us look forward to seeing and sharing the results of each project.

Working with freelance designers is also creating opportunities for creatives to build their portfolio, experience, and network. Breaking into tech can be difficult for anyone, especially for creatives outside of the U.S. Being able to provide artists with access to well-paid, creative work is meaningful for us and ultimately will make the tech ecosystem stronger.

A resource for our clients and community

Design is a critical component of any brand. Startups need high-quality design to convey who they are and what they build. In a world where nearly every market is a crowded market, a strong visual identity helps you cut through the noise and build brand recognition. The Design Directory makes it easier for our clients and community to find vetted designers on any budget.

Join the community

We know that brands will benefit from working with creatives with diverse backgrounds and skills. Meanwhile, designers will value the opportunity to apply their talents at top companies.

If you’re interested in learning more about the talented creatives in our network and seeing their work, head over to the Design Directory. If you’re a creative freelancer and would like to join, please apply.
